Today's featured product is Benefit's Tan About Town - it was released as a "mini set" exclusively at Sephora over the holidays. This set which first came out around Christmas time now seems to be all over the check out line at Sephora. With 3 of their best selling items, this is the perfect little sample pack for a gal on the go!
Tan About Town contains a sample/travel size of Hoola Bronzer, Some Kinda Gorgeous & a miniature Bad Gal Mascara. What I love is that these are prefect to throw into a travel bag or pop into my purse for touch ups. The packaging itself is great for samples. This set cost me $15 CAD / $13 USD. Best part about it? The mini mascara on it's own costs around $10.
I have had my eye on the Hoola Bronzing Powder by Benefit for quite some time now. I just never wanted to spend the money on the full sized product. This has been the perfect way for me to test out and see the quality and color of this product on a day to day basis. I have been using it religiously over the past 3 weeks and have yet to see a dent forming in this 3g/0.1oz sample. Though it's plastic packaging is not the sturdiest, it has lasted a trip to Vegas as well as days in my purse without getting crushed. I love it.
I had never heard of Some Kinda Gorgeous Foundation Faker until I purchased this set. It is a light-weight, oil free, cream-to-powder product with a sheer tint to it. The full sized product comes in 3 shades: light, medium and dark. This sample, however, only comes in medium. This is the perfect light weight, sheer coverage for me to touch up with. For those days that I don't feel like wearing a foundation, tinted moisturizer or spot concealing, this is perfect to just pat on to lightly conceal redness. It also works great to touch up throughout the day. Though it's coverage is sheer, it has a somewhat buildable coverage. The only con? It has a slight 'clay-like' scent to it. Still, this set is worth getting.
Last but definitely not least is the Bad Gal Lash Mascara. This sample weighs in at 4g/0.14oz compared to the full sized version of 85g/0.3oz. As is I love this mascara. It is a dryer formula that does not clump and is very buildable. Though not the best at holding a curl on my stick straight asian lashes, it separates and volumizes nicely. Perfect for travel and touch ups, I'm glad to have this sample size to toss into my on-the-go makeup bag.
Overall, if you're thinking of trying out any of these products, this set is the way to go. Better than buying the full sizes with uncertainty, at the very least, you may enjoy 1 of the 3 samples. Personally, I'm glad to have gotten it.
Would you try this or any other Benefit mini set?

ReplyDeleteAgreed. No dent. I'll be tempted to get the full version - if and when my hoola bronzer sample ever gets used up.
