Essie's Meet Me a Sunset is a bright red-orange with a jelly-like finish and consistency. I used 2 layers to achieve full opacity. This particular colour came out Summer of 2011 - however, I have seen it on Essie displays recently, so it must have been relaunched for this spring/summer. Next, I followed up with 2 coats of Essie's Luxe Effects in Shine of the Times. I have been dying to try a duo chrome over coat like this. It has chucks of white multi-reflective pieces in it and a clear base coat. It adds a new dimension to whatever polish it is layered over. Not to mention that it picks up on whatever colour is layered underneath.

Overall, I love the effect. I probably could have stopped with one coat of the Luxe Effects but I wanted to see what it would look like if I did 2. (However, I would recommend at this point only using 1 coat on a brighter polish like this.) It is a little festive for spring but I felt like bringing some warmth to my nails this week. I finished off with a coat of my Seche Vite top coat and was good to go. This is currently still on my nails without any chips. Loving it.
I cannot wait to try this luxe effects with some darker colours as I have seen it advertised with. I will keep you all posted!Next for my nails? Maybe something more Valentine's appropriate?
What's on your nails right now? Think I should do the Nail Polish Obsession tag? Leave a comment below!
I was trying to avoid the temptation of buying one of the essie luxe effects, seeing how it looks though on nails is making me want it even more! Next time I see it, it will be mine!
