Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer
This is probably the only new product I picked up (and used) this month. I have been looking for a highlighting concealer for a while now. I keep meaning to buy the YSL touche éclat, but I never get around to getting colour matched and buying it, so this drugstore alternative definitely caught my eye. I have been loving this concealer. I'm using shade Buff. It is the perfect 'highlight' for me. Not too ghastly white and not too pink or yellow. It does wonders at brightening up my under-eye area, nose, cheek bones and around my mouth. It has medium coverage and blends beautifully with my Sigma P80 (or fingers.) Maybe not the best if you have really dark circles but just enough to brighten it up.
Maybelline Dream Matte Powder
As I have been trying to let my skin 'breathe' more often than not, I have been using mostly just concealer and powder on a daily basis. This has been my go-to drugstore powder for a while now. I love it's buttery feel and it never looks cakey on me. It keeps my skin looking matte for around 4-6 hours depending on the day and is easily used throughout the day without looking 'caked'. I alternate between shade Beige (medium 2-2.5) and Honey (medium 3-4). Lately, I have been using Beige as I am paler and sometimes I'll add Honey as a contour. Love this powder. My go to setting powder for my combo-oily skin.
Butter London Nail Foundation (Flawless Basecoat)
I purchased this base coat along with the Hardwear P.D. Quick Topcoat in a set for $27 CAD from Glymm.com. I love this! Why you ask? I mean it is just a base coat after all. What I love is that it can be worn on its own and gives off the perfect 'nude-natural' nail look. It makes my fingers look longer, well kept and well manicured even without a colour overtop. It is essentially foundation for your nails - a tinted nude basecoat. One swipe and you're done. Finish off with a colour overtop and topcoat or just a topcoat and you are good to go.
Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express Mascara
This has seriously been a Maybelline month. I pulled out this old favourite in the beginning of the month and have been using it every day since. It does exactly what I need it to - volumize, lengthen and separate - does not clump on me!! It has a wetter formular than I tend to like but it makes for quicker and easier application when you're in a rush. The biggest downfall to this mascara? It doesn't hold my curl very well. I have stick straight lashes as is - so after curling them and applying this, the curl falls about half way down. Sad. Mind you, I don't use waterproof mascara so maybe that's why. If this held a curl, it'd be an HG but for now, it is simply a monthly favourite.
Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer (SPF 15)
A moisturizer? really? Yes! Like I said earlier, I have been busy and sleep hours have been precious to me, so the quicker I get up and get ready, the longer I can sleep in. What I love is that this moisturizer has an SPF in it. Eliminating my need to apply an SPF after my daily moisturizer - one step shop! Also, given my oiliness, I love that this moisturizer hydrates without making me greasy and uncomfortable. It dries to a nice dewy feel without a slickness to it. There is no noticeable scent beyond that of a light SPF which is great and this is supposed to help even out skin's tone and texture. This would be a nice one for most (if not all) skin types.
Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub
I finally repurchased this after using my Fresh Sugar Lip Polish for such a long time. I do love Fresh, don't get my wrong, but I did not enjoy licking that sugar polish off my lips - the wax or whatever is in it - balm? tastes gross. Lush's Lip Scrub is essentially just flavoured sugar and oil. Mint Julips tastes like mint chocolate - which I love - and really exfoliates my dry flaky lips nicely. I tend to use this every 3rd night - followed by a balm. LOVE this stuff. I will never go without again. Bonus: a little goes a long way with this scrub.
Physician's Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Blush in Natural
As much as I love my peach-apricot-warm blushes, I wanted a more glowy pink for the month of February. As I have been trying to use up all the products I have, I pulled this blush out to hopefully start making a dent into it. No dent yet, but I love the light glowy soft pink flush that this blush gives my cheeks. It's not too unnatural and just makes me look like I'm blushing slightly. It does have a shimmer to it - which I'm not the fondest of, but the colour definitely lifts my mood on all the dreary windy and rainy days we have been having.
MAC Tendertones
I have been loving Tread Gently and Hot N' Saucy this month. These are so nice to throw on throughout the day. I toss it in my purse and reapply as needed. They are hydrating and glossy. Do I ever love the glossiness! So much better than just using a balm. Perfect to wear over a lip stain or tinted lip balm or on it's own. It adds a sheer wash of glitter or colour... I just love these and I love the fruity scent. Makes me feel like Spring is finally here.

All That Glitters |
I have been loving both of these shades as 'all over the lid' shades this past month. They are the perfect light, eye brightening wash of colour. Naked Lunch is a minimal pink with warm shimmer (frost). It is the lighter of the two colours and perfect for waking up tired eyes. Generally I like this as a highlight but it does well to make my dull lids pop. All That Glitters is a beige with golden shimmer/pearl (veluxe pearl). This is a warmer, golden shade that makes my whole 'natural' face appear more 'dewy' and warm. There is a bit of fall out with this one but nothing all too noticeable. Still a lovely lid shade that just brightens up a look.
That about wraps up my monthly favourites. Sorry it was so belated and that there's not much too it, but I haven't really deviated from my routine much and experimented. Hopefully next month will be more exciting.
What was your most reached for product this February?
