This past Sunday (January 5, 2012), MAC released it's newest collection - Iris Apfel for MAC. The beautiful thing about this collaboration is the colours they chose to release. Bold and bright colours perfect for the coming Spring and Summer months.

The part I was most excited about - in this release - was the lipsticks. They are named after various birds (except for one - Morange - which is part of their permanent line) and are very brightly coloured.
There are 5 limited edition shades: Flamingo (a light milky bright coral), Party Parrot (a bright red-pink), Pink Pigeon (a 'brightest clean pink'), Scarlet Ibis (a bright orange-red), & Morange (a 'loudmouth orange' - amplified creme).
I was so excited that I rushed out to stores on Monday only to find that they were all sold out in all the close by free-standing MAC stores (note: This collection was only released to free-standing MAC stores. Sorry ladies and gents, no going to a Bay for these!). However, I am still on the hunt - looking across Canada now to hopefully get my hands on Flamingo and Party Parrot (the latter which has not yet been released on the Canadian website yet - and the former being already sold out online.) These lipsticks cost $17.50 CAD or $14.50 USD.

This collection is not all about lipsticks though! Iris also helped create 5 beautiful eyeshadow shades, 3 bright lip liner shades to match her lipsticks, a neutral beauty powder shade called Too Chic, as well as 3 nail polish shades.
All in all, this is a beautiful collection perfect for the warmer months to come. Perfect that is, if you manage to get your hands on these lovely colours.
Happy hunting!
What do you think of the Iris Apfel for MAC collection?
