Lash Lovelies by Benefit

The first thing I usually notice about a person is their eyes.  I adore it when girls have simple eye make-up and long, defined and voluminous lashes.  You know the ones?  Those eyes that you think, "how did she get those incredible lashes when mine are ....", well my personal lashes are straight and not-so-amazing.  I'm working on it.

I was at Shopper's Drug Mart today and came across these babies. or Lovies.  Benefit Cosmetics has come out with a new line of lashes called "Lash Lovies".  The range includes seven styles of flirty lashes with creative names (Big Spender, Debutante, Little Flirt, Pin-up, Prima Donna, Rockette and Starlet) as well as their single lashes (which are appropriately named Going Solo).  They are priced at $18 CAD a pair (or $15 USD from the Benefit website.)

Prima Donna Lash

Personally, I am dying to try the Pin-Up Lash which is described by the Benefit website to be "multi-layered lashes for seductive drama."  When you see them in person, they are finely layered lashes - maybe 2 or 3 layers with short and long lashes, some criss-crossed and some straight, to give a beautifully dimensional lash.  Cannot wait to try them.  The other I was looking at would be the Prima Donna Lash - described as finely-crossed lashes for va-va-voom volume.

These remind me a lot of Shu Uemura Lashes which I love - but are pricier.  They could also be considered a higher end drugstore brand - as it is offered at Shoppers.  These are on the pricier side of drugstore and in general expensive for lashes (unless you do consider Shu or MUFE - which range from $20 and up).  However, they look very well made and if you took care of them, could last a fairly long time.

All in all, I might splurge on these eventually for some big occasion.  But good job benefit for creating a nice variety of less expensive high-end lashes.

So, what do you think?  Will you be trying these?

Note that when I saw these at Shoppers, the names varied from those posted to the Benefit website.  I believe that Little Flirt might have been called Angel instead.
