I heard so much about
Sugarpill after IMATS LA 2011. It was all I heard about on Youtube on blogs for days. I must admit, there is seriously
not that much hype about IMATS Vancouver every year. I have never been nor do I plan on going just for the fact that I rarely hear anything about it. However, I would love to go to IMATS LA one day... Anyways, back to the point, after hearing all these
raves about how amazing
Sugarpill loose pigments were, I had to order some of my own.

A little about Sugar Pill.
Sugarpill Cosmetics is a "custome line of vibrant, richly pigmented, velvety pressed eyeshadows and sparkling loose powders." (However, I noticed they started selling eyelashes recently as well!) Creator Amy, aka Shrinkle, was running a flashy and colourful fashion line. To compliment her "flashy clothing designs, [she] began wearing theatrical makeup adopted from performers in the underground drag queen clubs [she] frequented." In 2010, Sugarpill was born - "offering dramatic shades with long-lasting wear that remains flawlessly bold throughout the day and night." FYI, products are also animal friendly - ie. not tested on animals whatsoever. The majority of products are also vegan. (all of the ones I purchased are vegan)
I decided, after seeing numerous Youtube reviews, to purchase 3 loose pigments, despite having never owned or used loose pigments before in my LIFE! The packaging is cute, vibrant, girly and edgy all at the same time. I find it so fitting.

The 3 shades I ordered where:
Royal Sugar, Goldilux and Lumi. They come in cute little boxes with heart shaped cut-outs through which you can see the product. The container itself is plastic with a black lid on which the logo is stamped. The jars seal well enough and do not let product spill out (if you drop the jar when it's not closed, that's another matter all together.)

These pigments are so incredibly pigmented and vibrant. I am literally in love. I was so concerned with making a mess that I almost regretted the order once it was placed. However, after receiving these and playing around, it was love.
Royal Sugar is a bright, electric blue with white multi-reflective turquoise glitter. It is probably the most unique colour I purchased and the one I ended up being the most excited over. As you can see, it's jar looks the most filled.
Goldilux is a highly metallic & reflective, bright, true gold with glitter. It is true to colour and wears wonderfully, I love placing this over a gold cream base, like NYX jumbo pencils or a darker based to add an extra POP to my eyes. Gorgeous. Finally,
Lumi is a snow white with a turquoise-blue-green sheen and glimmer. This colour is beautiful layered over a white cream base or even over a darker base to add an iridescent quality to any look. It transforms any black into a shimmering iridescent and unique turquoise-blue.

All of the powders are
very finely milled. They wear beautifully on their own or layered over other colours to liven up a look. These are great as night time looks or bright day looks. Personally, I am getting the most use out of Lumi and Goldilux - both of which I worn on New Years Eve layered over a traditional smoky eye. Royal Sugar has been a nice 'ball of eye' colour also when doing a smoky eye to liven up the traditional darkness. The 'finger swatches' above are simply me pressing the tips my fingers into the caps once. They are so lovely.

These swatches are
one swipe of pigment. Essentially, what I picked up from dipping my finger into the cap twice. I cannot tell you how impressed I am with these pigments. I am tempted to try more, however, I still need to learn to work with pigments properly first. Each pigment itself, cost $12 USD. Shipping is a flat rate of $5 on all US orders or $6 - $12 and up for international orders (with orders over $75 being free worldwide.) I was tempted to get myself a pressed eyeshadow palette, however, I held off as I tend to generally only wear bright colours at night or for show or costume. This got to me in a small box filled with plenty of pink tissue along with some stickers. As well as my receipt with <3 Amy on it. Very nice touches.

Overall, if you are looking for some bright pigments, I would highly recommend Sugarpill Cosmetics. These colours are not for the faint of heart but can be easily incorporated into everyday looks if that is what you are looking for. I would suggest Lumi as it is probably the easiest to wear and the nicest change of colour and shimmer.
Do you use loose pigments? How about sugarpill? What are your favourite bright coloured eyeshadows?
xo, Chanel
