Las Vegas, NV with the Girls

Palazzo's main entrance
Over the winter holidays, I managed to go to Las Vegas with some of my best friends from high school - ie. my girls!  We had such a blast.  These plans were not long in the making.  We had the idea about a year ago but nothing really came of it until a few months before as we started looking for flights and deals.  Amazingly enough, we snagged a relatively inexpensive flight from Bellingham, WA and a great rate at the Palazzo for a 2 double-bed Bella suite - facing the strip! (our room literally over looked the pool.)

Outside the Bellagio at night
The hotels were all decked out in Holiday decor and it was beautiful.  I mean, how else are you supposed to feel festive with all that sun and warmth?  Obviously not as warm as some places we could have gone to - but a very welcome change from the near freezing temperatures back home.

It was absolutely amazing there.  A great change from the cold, cloudy and rainy weather here - Vegas was warm during the day and relatively mild at night.  At no point was I shivering or freezing from only wearing a light sweater.  We were there for 4 days and 3 nights and managed to get shopping done all 3 of the full days we were there.  Fashion mall, Miracle Mile, Forum Shops and more.  I cannot believe how much we managed to buy - though a lot of what I spent was gifts and food.

The food there was absolutely amazing.  We ate at the buffets at Wynn and Bellagio. As well as Serendipity at Caesar's Palace.  And did we ever eat A LOT!  Amazingly, I gained no weight for the amount of walking we did from shop to shop was enough to keep it all off.  Overall, an amazing time.  We took pictures at every possible landmark we went to and watched all the shows.  I managed to get a big of vlogging done - but whether or not I make that into a video and edit it all together is yet to be seen.

Dessert for the table at the Bellagio buffet (one of everything)
If you ever decide to go to Vegas, I suggest making an itinerary with extra 'buffer' time - in case you need longer in a given area.  Where we thought we would simply spend 4 hours at the Fashion Show mall, we probably spent a total of 6 - 2 of which were spent getting lost and trying on clothes at the biggest Forever 21 I have ever been into.  (Well New York was pretty big as well.)

Outside Caesar's Palace at night
The night life was amazing, if not expensive.  A cover charge of $20USD at XS and drinks are all doubles and thus much more expensive than I am used to paying in my local bars and clubs.  Overpriced? yes, a little.  Worth the experience? YES!  It is a must do trip for friends once they reach 21.  You cannot make memories like that - in the city that never sleeps - anywhere else.  But seriously, you literally cannot sleep.  I know we didn't.  Theory?  They pump the rooms and casinos with pure oxygen so that your brain tricks itself into staying up even if your body is screaming to fall asleep.
Over the days spent there, we probably got a total of 12 or 16 hours sleep (plus the 2 hours each way spent on the plane.)

Collection of empty shopping bags from every store we went to (minus the M&M store.)
Would I go back? Yes.  Will I go back? Eventually.  Sooner or later, we will end up back in Vegas to party.  Until then, time to save money and travel to other places.

Have you ever been to Vegas?  Where did you go over the holidays?
