Essie: Angora Cardi

If you haven't guessed already, I am a nail polish junkie. a fanatic. a devotee... I am nail polish obsessed. Well enough about my addiction to nail varnish, this is Essie's Angora Cardi.  The one thing I love about Essie, is their colour selection.  Not just their seasonal collections but their permanent line as well.  The finish and colours are amazing.  My only gripe with Essie?  The consistency of many of their polishes is too thin - which means you need more than 2 coats to get an opaque colour.  Not this one!

Natural sunlight
I am happy to say that Essie's Angora Cardi took me 2 coats to get this wonderful rich colour.  It is a creme finish - thus a little matte looking without a top coat but it went on smoothly and the colour itself is gorgeous.  I would describe it as a blue-grey-mauve.  It is very much a neutral and looks much brighter in the sunlight than in the shade.  What I love the most about the colour is that it is fairly 'neutral' in that it compliments outfits nicely with it's more 'gray-toned' hue.  A nice change to the average 'nude' or 'brown' polishes most consider to be neutral nails.

Natural light - shaded
I would suggest taking your time applying this polish though as it looks best when applied thinly for a smooth surface texture.  Nonetheless, I am very happy with this polish.  Another for the collection.

What's your favourite neutral polish?

  1. Very pretty shade :) I totally agree with you about the formula though - I find all my Essie polishes run on the thinner side!

    1. Very few Essie polishes are not the thin-sheer consistency. I think their color selection makes up for it though!
