Essie: Wrapped in Rubies

One thing is for certain, these pictures do not do this nail polish shade justice.  I'm talking about Essie's Wrapped in Rubies.  I have never been so curious about a permanent collection Essie polish as I was with this one.  I swore when I found it that I thought it was seasonal with the way it looks.  Again, this is one of those iridescent shimmer polishes.  This is like an amped up version of what I think It's Genius is (post on Essie's 'It's Genius' to come soon).

Natural light 

I would describe this color as a bright crimson with golden shimmer or finely milled glitter throughout.  In the bottle, this finely milled gold glitter is swirled and suspended in the base colour of dark pink-red-purple polish.  It literally looks like gold glittery ribbons have been 'wrapped' around rubies.  It is actually just plain pretty in the bottle.  On the nails, it does not quite have the same effect but it does not disappoint.  It goes on smoothly in 2 coats and has a beautiful light catching gold reflect to it that simply makes me want to wear this polish over and over and over again.  It's a perfect winter colour but could easily be transitioned into all year.
