Jewelmint: Silver Swan Bracelet (JM finally in Canada!)

Jewelmint now ships to Canada!  If you haven't heard of Jewelmint, it's a jewelry line/site created by the celebrity stylist, Cher Colture, and fashion icon, Kate Bosworth.  Each month, they release new pieces of quality made jewelry.  Essentially, you need to take a style quiz and they do their best to match pieces they create to your personal sense of style.  Keep in mind, you can always favourite a piece that shows up in your showroom or remove it - as well as see more.   What I love is how different these pieces are and how you don't see things quite like them anywhere else.

Packaging
I cannot begin to describe how excited (and wary) I was when I found out they began shipping to Canada.  For an extra $9, they ship any piece to your address in Canada via Canada post as an expedited parcel.  Amazing isn't it?  Well kind of.  This is why I was wary - at $29.99 - a piece of good quality costume jewelry is a good price - but at $39?  it's ok.  I'm going to need to be careful with what I buy.  What I was happy about though, was that I managed to snag the 50% off for first time purchases which made my order $25 - not half bad.  There always seem to be deals floating around for new subscribers and every now and again, some for returning members, so keep an eye out if you're interested.
Silver Swan Bracelet - has a lobster clasp
Keep in mind, Jewelmint is a subscription service, therefore, should you feel that none of the pieces that month are to your liking, you need to 'skip the month', otherwise they do charge the $29.99 to your credit card - leaving you with a credit you will need to use at some other point in the future.

Silver Swan Bracelet
For my first ever purchase (as I didn't want to go crazy or anything), I got the Silver Swan Bracelet.  A recreation of their sold out Golden Goose Bracelet - which I would've loved to have gotten if they had shipped to Canada at the time.   This bracelet consist of several 'diamond' shaped charms, linked together, as well as one that has been encrusted in rhinestones.  The bracelet itself is a frosted finish silver and has a lobster clasp to hold it together.  It fits my wrist nicely and has no problem flipping 'right-side-up' no matter which way I hold my wrist.

Admittedly, I thought that this bracelet was going to be heavier in real life - as silver can get heavy.  Mind you, this is silver plated and thus the light weight makes sense.  My biggest concern with this bracelet will be to see if it oxidizes like regular sterling silver does over time - I'll keep you all posted.

Other than that, it is a cute addition to my jewelry collection and I am looking forward to layering this with other bracelets to add texture and dimension.

So what do you think about Jewelmint and would you order from them?  What is your favourite piece?

    1. I suggest taking a look at what you like - and then maybe waiting for a good deal first. It took me a while to consider if the pricing was worth it. I am definitely a person who likes seeing and touching things before i buy them. Keep me posted if you do decide to get anything.
