Trending: Hot Pink Lips

There's always some trend or another that you fall into without even realizing it.  I've been sporting this lipstick/lipgloss combo all month and thinking to myself "I need to do a post on this combo - I LOVE IT."  Then sure enough, I am flipping through a magazine, surfing the web, and checking out celebrities and what do I see?  Hot Pink Lips.  A perfect way to brighten up any look.  A perfect alternative and transition out of bold wintery red lips.

A hot pink lip is a great way to perk up any look.  I found a great article at College Fashion that talks about How to Wear Hot Pink Lipstick.  Personally, I love the look with a simple face - ie. a statement lip.  It's all about undertone.  If you have your skin has cool undertones, opt for a shade with blue undertones to it.  If your skin has warm undertones, look for a pink with more reds/oranges to it.

This was a trend seen all over the Spring Summer runs ways in 2011 - and though not seen as often during the winter months, is making a strong come back.  With collections from MAC (Iris Apfel/Shop MAC, Cook MAC) being released with colours like "Party Parrot", "Pink Pigeon", "Naughty Saute" and "Quick Sizzle" among others, it'll be easy to pink up on this trend.

I will most likely still post my favourite combo later, but I thought I'd show some more picture of some runway and celebrity looks to keep all of you lovelies inspired.  A bold lip requires confidence!  If you love it, flaunt it.  Don't worry about what others think of your bold choice, I always think that if what I'm wearing makes me feel good, then that's all that matters.
